Taken from Joel Jones, who took from someone else.
Questions about our lives. Our pasts. High school. Neat to read about other people.

    1. Did you date someone from your school?
5 people. First was when I entered HS and it lasted no more but a couple weeks. It just was not exciting. Then I dated a guy named Mike for the rest of my freshman year. He was my first love. Then I dated Brandon Laga (we were better friends), then I dated Bob Skwirut. (pronounced "squirt") He broke my heart when he went off to college and needed to "live the college life." I was still left back in high school with 2 more years to go. Then came Nick Sandoval. Him and I dated for a long long time. Maybe 3 years. He was a great person. Still is. Just was not meant to be.

    2. Did you win anything in Seniors Who's Who?
I got two. 1- Most casually dressed (I wore PJ's to school 80% of my time in HS) 2- Can't remember

    3. What kind of car did you drive?
Once I could drive, I drove a Nissan Sentra 1998. Awesome car.

    4. It's Friday night...where are you?
Rock concert, coffee shop, church function, playing games, football game for danceteam performance at half-time.

    5. Were you a party animal?
Not at all. Unless I was on some trip for danceteam.

    6. Were you considered a flirt?
Of course anyone could be at times. But in general, I was not associated with "being a flirt"

    7. Were you in band, orchestra, or choir?
    yes,no,yes

    8. Were you a nerd?
Complex question. In general, no. But honestly, I preferred to hang out with the more "nerdy" people because they were less superficial and more relatable.

    9. Did you get suspended/expelled?
Once I got a code violation and was suspended from danceteam for a few weeks. I was captain at the time. It was because they caught me drunk.

    10. Can you sing the fight song?
    No

    11. Who were your favorite teachers?
    My math teacher, Mrs. Whippo

    12. Where did you sit during lunch?
Everywhere. My group changed throughout high school.

    13. What was your school's full name?
    Elk Grove High School

    14. School mascot?
You will love this one. Grens....stands for Grenadiers...people who throw grenades. No, even though our high school is Elk Grove High School, our mascot was a Grenadier.

    15. Homecoming court?
    Not ever on any court.

    16. If you could go back and do it again, would you?
Maybe. There will always be things I'd like to do over. But I would never know what the things that actually happened in high school aided in creating the current Ali

    17. What do you remember most about graduation?
One of my best friends gave the speech. He kept waving at me and I would make a funny face to try and make him laugh right before he went on to speak.

    18. Where did you go senior skip day?
The ZOO! I will never ever forget. Chris, Peter, Trevor, and Andrew, Tim Farell...we all went to the zoo then to a Mexican dinner, then to watch Freaks and Geeks.

    19. Have you gained some weight since then?
    10 pounds

    20. Who was your Senior prom date?
    Nick

    21. Are you planning on going to your 10-year reunion?
    Yes.

    22. Who was your home room teacher?
    Macarol

    23. Who will repost?
    nobody

    24. Did you play any sports?
    In high school? Yes, danced

    25. Do you still talk to people from school?
    Very few. But yes.

    26. What year did you graduate?
    2004

    Sadness
The NIU school shooting upsets me beyond words. I can't bring myself to understand it. The shooter, Steven, went to my high school in Elk Grove, IL. How could someone who seemed fine, who was an excellent student, had friends, had a girlfriend, and was nearing a graduate degree want to kill himself, and even more so, other people? I am starting not to feel safe going to school anymore. Like I should wear armor or something to do attend class. Especially since my grandma can respond faster then the FCCJ security. What is going on here?

    Have you
Have you done any of the things you have always wanted to? Have you actually gotten to any of your dreams? If so, which ones? What do you still hope to do in your life? For example, I have had a few dreams that I have fulfilled. I had always wanted to volunteer at a children's home. Back in Chicago there were no homes near my house and no way of getting to one to volunteer. When I moved here to Florida, there happen to be the main children's home in the area only 10 minutes away. I am volunteering and have been for the past 5 months. I am so happy there. Some dreams I have still not fulfilled: Live on a farm, go on a medical missions trip, have my own garden

Ever since I was little I have dreamt about where I will live when I "grow up." A few places have stuck in my mind for years and they continue to sound appealing in many ways.

    1. Asheville, NC.
    2. Roanoke, VA.
    3. Durham, NC.

Look into these places...look a photos...stats. Let me know what you think

    Disappointed
UNF's nursing school is even more selective than I originally thought. Once they reject a bunch of people, they call a select few for an interview. Out of those people, they only select half of the interviewees for the program. To be honest, I suck at interviews. I get all nervous and stutter. Also, the interviewer might simply take a disliking or make a false judgement about any of the interviewees. It seems kind of subjective. I like how FCCJ solely operates by looking at the points.

I took the TEAS, which is the nursing entrance exam for UNF. I hardly slept Friday night and the exam was at 8 a.m. I don't function that early. When I took the FCCJ exam, it was 3 p.m. on a Friday afternoon. And who knew?, I did much better on the FCCJ test. I do much better around that time, period. I am bummed because that was my only shot at the test for UNF. I wanted to show all my friends I was smart enough to get in. I think I blew it. Even with nearly a 4.0, I don't think I have a chance anymore. Thank goodness for FCCJ. I hope to have a better shot there. = (

Although I will spend much of the time studying, I am excited to have a few days off school (2 days). I complain about homework, but I am fortunate to go in the first place. I am fortunate that God has given me the ability to make it through school without giving up. I am thankful for my new friends here in Jax. I used to call them Owen's friends, but they are also starting to become my friends as well. Sometimes I can hang out with them when Owen is not there and it feels comfortable. Being apart of a community is very important to me, so I am really thankful for you guys. I am thankful for Owen in every way. And I am thankful for my faraway parents and their multiple ways of supporting me. How about you?

    Tired
    Ahhh

Raffi is my friend on myspace. Beat that.

When people say nursing school is hard, they are completely accurate. Sometimes I feel like I am in medical school studying to become a doctor. So much information, in so little time. I have spent all of my free time with anatomy and physiology. This is by far the most difficult class I have ever taken. I am learning, but maybe not enough. I am starting to think I will only use about 10% of what I learn when I actually work as a nurse. I don't know how doctors do it. Know all of the material, and in depth, where they can then expand and postulate on the information. I am just scratching the surface of what goes on in the body, and unfortunately that is probably all I'll ever do, scratch the surface. I wish I was a genius where all of this just clicked. Le sigh.
